Movies and writing

Ever wonder what the two have in common? To me, watching a good movies jolts my imagination in a way for new ideas about future books. I like twist in turns in a movie and how the story develops. It took me about two and a half years to develop my story arc because I also got writers block and needed a break. For me, sometimes watching a good movie gave me burst of energy. Other times, I could hear a story from a conversation, and gather new ideas. Movies and books both have a beginner, middle, and ending. Sometimes book thrillers become great movies. Children’s book are especially hard.  Most people assume it’s easy. However, you have two audiences children and adults. In my opinion, you cannot develop a good children’s story overnight. What you put into it is what you get out of it.
